I signed up to do the Gemstone and Metal blog hop hosted by Lisa at Pine Ridge Treasures. We each purchased a kit from her for the hop. Mine had really some pretty sunflower metal beads, a clasp, and 4 different shapes of beautiful black lined jasper. Of course, I forgot to take a picture of the beads before I started. I went through a few false starts and finally decided to do a long necklace.
Here is a picture of the two together.

I love your long necklace. Those beads make a great statement. The blue crystals give your bracelet a great punch of color and contrast.
ReplyDeleteThe long necklace is beautiful and the use of crystal in contrast with the roughness of stones, gives your pieces a very sophisticated and feminine look.
ReplyDeleteI also really like how the blue crystals look with the stones in the bracelet. I'm very into long necklaces right now as well. It's a great look. I love how you used the different shapes and sizes of jasper in the necklace, and all the different striations give it a lot of visual interest along with the crystals and metal.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. This is a "sunflower month" for you, Kim.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you combined with your jasper --both the pink and blue look great with the gemstone. Beautiful pieces.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, Great job on your pieces. The pink crystals really frame the jasper well in your necklace. The blue in the bracelet makes a statement too.
ReplyDeleteVery elegant designs. Love the pop of blue in the bracelet!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty - classy designs.

Beautiful stones. They work really well with the silver. Great job!
ReplyDeleteBoth pieces are lovely - the pink keeps the necklace very soft and feminine and the blue is such a great contrast to the stones.
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast between the gemstones and the crystals and your choice of colours to use.
ReplyDeleteLovely creations!
oooo,, awesome job. Love the pink and blue with your stones. Each highlights something different. That leaf clasp is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteJust love the necklace! It has such a wonderful length and drape.
ReplyDeleteAdding the pink is a nice touch to highlight the necklace.
ReplyDeleteThe pink crystals do a great job of softening the strong lines black in the jasper, and I love the length! We had the same stone, but took different paths in our creation -- it's great to see what others did isn't it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! We had the same gemstone and it is interesting to see how you approached them. I love the necklace and how you used your metal beads to work with the different sized stones.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful set....I love the bracelet, the blue really make it pop. Great job. Thanks for sharing!

I'm so jealous of your stones! =) More importantly though, I'm in love with the necklace! I love how you combined the different shapes and brought them all together - oh so beautiful!

Super design idea to use the pretty crystals together with the gemstones, Kim! I am especially fond of the blue crystal bracelet. Thanks for being in the hop!
ReplyDeleteKim . . . I really enjoyed reading your blog and knowing that someone else makes multiple efforts before stumbling upon their finished design. I admire your tenacity! The necklace in particular caught my eye because, despite it being long and made out of many hard and larger materials, it has a beautiful sense of flow and softness to it. It takes real artistry to make the design speak like that! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces, I really like the blue with the gemstones in the bracelet.
