Jonquil Challenge

I was lucky (and fast) enough to purchase the Jonquil Challenge kit from Andrew Thornton.

Here is what we were sent:
This is the mystery component, I just love it!
And here is what I made, I did a pair of earrings with the faceted drops and some wood rings I had from my stash and Vintaj ear wires.  Yellow is not an easy color for me to work with, that's one of the reasons I bought the kit - trying to push myself a little.
I also made a bracelet with the chain:
I've been playing with the seed beads, I think they will be great in free form peyote.  I'll post a picture when that is done.
And here is Ninja, he was trying to drive me crazy help me make everything:

Here is the list of participants, please take a look at what everyone made:

Alice Bavaud will have pieces on Andrew Thornton's blog

  1. Your creations are very pretty. This was a difficult challenge just because of the color, but I enjoyed working with the items.

  2. Pretty earrings! I find yellow challenging as well. Ninja is a cutie!

  3. What would we do without our helpers? I have a Maine Coon who takes up half my workspace, but I wouldn't think of starting a project without him! Great earrings, the wood brings a nice warmth; and I never would have thought of doubling the wire to make a bracelet!

  5. Very nice! I had help from my cats during this challenge too. They kept laying in the beads and I think a few are still on the floor. I look forward to seeing your peyote piece too. - Dawn

  6. Love the simplicity of your designs. Great looks here. I was also part of the challenge, but was a bit slack in letting Andrew know I would have something to share, even though it isn't actually complete. Hope you'll take a look. http://asibeadit.blogspot.com/;-)

  10. So pretty! I did not use my chain, but I like the idea of hanging the beads as charms.
