UnFinished Objects Blog Hop

About a month ago, I joined a support group.  I finally admitted that I have a problem.  Sometimes when I'm beading, something goes wrong - I miss a loose thread, or a wrong stitch, and get frustrated and it goes in a drawer.  Sometimes I get bored with whatever I am working on, or have a deadline for another project and the current one goes in a drawer.  My UFO (unfinished object) drawer is almost full.  So when Karen Williams at Baublicious sent an email out asking for people to join a support group for unfinished objects, I jumped at the chance.  I do so much better when I have a deadline.  I am hoping that my drawer will empty soon (or at least less full).  Today, it has one less item in it!

Here is what it looked like when I took it out of the drawer, I am making a rope to go with a pendant my husband bought for me.  I am embarrased to say this has been sitting for over a year.  I was bored, put it down to make something else, and it went into the black hole - I mean drawer.

And here is the (finally)! finished piece:

I am so glad to be finished and able to wear it!

Here is the piece I will be working on next (it hasn't been sitting long, but I had to put it aside to finish my UFO):

Thank you for stopping by to see what I did, and thank you Karen for organizing this group and the blog hop!!

  1. Hi Kim, beautiful rope to go with a beautiful pendant I'm so glad that you were able to finish it so you can wear the heart you husband gave to you. Your next project looks interesting looking forward to seeing it finished.

  2. What a beautiful pendant! And you created an equally beautiful rope to show it off on. Glad that you can finally wear it.

  3. what a beautiful necklace! how nice that your hubby buys you beads ... mine would not ever think of it, but then I've finally trained him not to get upset when I go ahead and buy them for myself :O

  4. Congrats on finishing your rope! I think we all get bored with ropes from time to time. It matches your pendant perfectly. I'm sure you will wear it often. And what a great pendant!

I, too, am curious about your next project. It looks quite intriguing. I enjoy doing a bit of macrame, but don't do it very often. I look forward to seeing it finished.

  5. I'm so glad you finished your rope. It came out great! It's a perfect match for that beautiful pendant. The first one is the hardest. Now you have some momentum built up, hopefully the next one will be easier. That's what I'm counting on anyway. WELL DONE!!!

  6. Yay! Another Unfinished Object bites the dust. Your finished necklace is lovely - the beaded rope is perfect with the pendant. What fun it will be to wear.

Congratulations - and thanks for joining in!

  7. Kim ~ that rope is the perfect support for that beautiful, substantial heart. Have you been wearing it every day since it was finished? I find it hard to stay focused on ropes. They linger way too long on my bead table. But when they are done, they seem to be the ones others like the most. They are boring to make, but have a great feel to them.
